Food / Feed

Enzymes have a long standing tradition in food applications. Still there is a need for new enzymatic applications to improve taste, nutritional value, health benefits and safety of the respective foodstuffs. Karyotica is committed to establish either completely new applications in this area or provides products for adding value to existing processes.

Karyoticas range of food enzymes like Alpha amylase, Pectinase,Asperginase and other enzymes meets the needs of consumers and producers. The product leads to highly improved food safety and can be integrated into existing production processes.

Enzymes have been added to animal feed since 1980s in response to Economic, Health and Environmental concerns. Total enzyme use in animal feed is about USD600M with 10% pa growth. Phytase is the most common enzyme used worldwide, accounting for 50% of all sales. Other enzymes, mainly NSP Degrading Enzymes, account for the rest. The main drivers for new enzyme applications in the feed industry are more efficient use of fodder, health benefits and less environmental impact through waste streams. Karyotica’s technology is perfectly suited to identify enzymes that fulfil all needs arising from feed processing and animal physiology.

Our range of feed enzymes include cellulase, xylanase, beta-glucanase, alpha-amylase, protease, lipase and phytase and other enzymes. The enzymes have a wide pH range, long-term stability and high temperature tolerance and high levels of enzyme activity enabling them to be successfully applied to animal feeds with excellent results under wide ranging conditions around the world.

To upgrade the feed efficiency of cereal diets on poultry (layers and broilers), turkeys, aqua and ruminant feeds. Our enzymes can be applied into many different feeds corn / soy / wheat / barley / rice (bran) / wheat (bran) and other locally available ingredients.

Benefits of our feed enzymes:
  • Improve feed conversion
  • Improve litter (Less wet Droppings and Odour)
  • Greater uniformity
  • Reduce feed costs
  • Use cheaper feeds
  • Reduce DCP use and costs
  • Reduce phosphorous and nitrogen Excretion
  • Improve animal wellbeing (reduces mortality and need for antibiotic use)
