Enzymes have been added to animal feed since 1980s in response to Economic, Health and Environmental concerns. Total enzyme use in animal feed is about USD600M with 10% pa growth. Phytase is the most common enzyme used worldwide, accounting for 50% of all sales. Other enzymes, mainly NSP Degrading Enzymes, account for the rest. The main drivers for new enzyme applications in the feed industry are more efficient use of fodder, health benefits and less environmental impact through waste streams. Karyotica’s technology is perfectly suited to identify enzymes that fulfil all needs arising from feed processing and animal physiology.
Our range of feed enzymes include cellulase, xylanase, beta-glucanase, alpha-amylase, protease, lipase and phytase and other enzymes. The enzymes have a wide pH range, long-term stability and high temperature tolerance and high levels of enzyme activity enabling them to be successfully applied to animal feeds with excellent results under wide ranging conditions around the world.
